Reviews for Bawarchi Restaurant
Review highlights
Based on 81,750 reviewsBawarchi Restaurant in Hyderabad is widely recognized for its authentic Hyderabadi biryani, attracting both locals and visitors with its flavorful, well-spiced dishes and generous portions. The venue is known for its large seating capacity but frequently experiences heavy crowds, leading to wait times and calls for better crowd management. Alongside its signature biryanis, the menu offers diverse options including Mughlai, North Indian, and Chinese cuisine, complemented by popular starters and desserts. Patrons appreciate the restaurant’s consistent food quality, reasonable pricing, and emphasis on cleanliness, making it a favored destination for biryani enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
Bawarchi restaurant was the very first place we visited as soon as we arrived in Hyderabad. This place might be the most popular among Biryani lovers in Hyderabad. The seating area of the restaurant is pretty huge, and it seems to remain crowded on any day, at any time. We tried their authentic Hyderabadi Biryani. The rice was perfectly cooked, with aromatic flavors of Indian spices, cardamom, saffron, and more. There were two small pieces of mutton in the half Biryani, but they were perfectly marinated and tender, with the authentic taste of Hyderabad. It was not spicy at all. I would give 1 star for the Ambience. It was very noisy and lack of hygiene.
I had to try this during my layover in HYD. It was on a weekend, I’ve never experienced such a crowd for a restaurant. We waited for about 20-25 minutes for a table, luckily got one. Tried the mini mutton & chicken biryani. Good taste. The biryani was well done, not very spicy, nice and flavorful. They have valet parking, but something has to be done to control the crowd.
Bawarchi at RTC Cross Roads is one of Hyderabad’s iconic biryani destinations, known for its strong legacy and loyal fan base. The place specializes in Hyderabadi biryani along with Mughlai and North Indian dishes. The chicken and mutton biryanis are generously portioned, well-spiced, and flavorful—many regulars recommend ordering “double masala” for a richer taste. Starters like Chicken 65 and Mutton chops are also popular. The restaurant offers basic indoor AC seating and is usually crowded, especially during lunch and dinner peak hours, which can lead to waiting times. Parking is limited—while some two-wheeler space is available, finding car parking nearby is difficult. Service is generally quick and efficient for dine-in, though delivery reviews are mixed, with some customers reporting occasional delays or incorrect orders. While many still consider it the “OG biryani spot,” some locals feel its quality has become inconsistent in recent years—excellent on some visits, average on others. Prices are reasonable, and portions are large, making it good value for money.
One of the best biryanis in Hyderabad! Unlike many famous spots, this place maintains great hygiene and cleanliness. Portions are generous (enough for two), prices are reasonable, and the taste is consistently amazing across biryani, kebabs, North Indian, Chinese, and desserts like fruit custard & apricot delight. Located at RTC X Roads near Sandhya Theatre with two outlets opposite each other.
